The suite of packaging has clearly been designed to fit with the existing values of the company. All the fruit is hand picked and bottled by the family run company, so the move to design a labelling system that can be applied to all jar sizes is a smart one.
As well as being versatile, they have been designed to reveal as much of the products within the jars as possible, letting the fruit speak for itself.

Atipus have also designed their new website and a bespoke condensed typeface which has been employed across all areas of the brand.

It’s been a long while (over a month!) since I last posted, so this is well over due. I’m aiming to pick this up again and post something at least every week, I’ve just been without my trusty iMac for the past month.

So, Streethearts. A lovely identity project from the guys at Heydays Studio in Oslo. What I really love about it is the hand crafted detailing put into the mark itself, followed closely by the hand stamping of the address onto various print based elements.

Streethearts is an Oslo-based blog, with an international focus. The blog is run by two talented photographers, Andreas and Eirik, and is already getting noticed worldwide.
Being a rather small project in terms of output, Heydays have thought about every detail and produced a beautiful set of materials inspired by street aesthetics, but mixed with a pure, no-fuzz style — giving room for the large detailed photos.

Yesterday I came across Aram, a contemporary furniture dealer based in London’s Covent Garden. Established in 1964 by Zeev Aram as a small venture, the store is now a 20,000 Sq Ft design haven, and still run as a family business.
Those of you residing in London may already be familiar with the prestigious contemporary furniture store, however for those who are not, like myself until yesterday, you are in for a real treat.
Boasting a collection almost as big as the contemporary design world itself, Aram is the go to store for anything in the realm of (among others) Eames, Noguchi, Knoll, Arne Jacobsen, Le Corbusier and even Eileen Gray, for whom they hold the worldwide licence.

As well as collecting and selling the very best in modern furniture and other products, they also curate their own design gallery and regularly hold specialist exhibitions.

Coming up are:
The celebration of 10 years of Alan Fletcher’s book The Art of Looking Sideways which takes place 17—24th September, at the Aram store.
Geenen + Hoon at The Aram gallery, 17 September—5 November.

I have yet to visit their Covent Garden store as I discovered them online, but I will make sure I do during my next London visit, however if I’m not careful I’m sure I could spend all day marvelling.

(Did I mention they also stock smaller gifts and children’s objects?)

Beautifully simple and simply beautiful is this identity for Koala Ranch designed by Lindsey Aho. Although many feel the days of clever marks like this one are numbered (or even over) with the continuous growth of flexible and innovative identity strategies, I can’t help but wonder.

Of course brands in certain sectors will be looking for more dynamic solutions, but when it comes to the food & drink market, particularly smaller brands, I think this simple but bold approach is spot on.
This is not to say there can’t be any flexibility in other aspects of the design, for instance colour or illustration, I’m merely suggesting that it’s still effective to have just one logo that works.

The mark sits well on the label with plenty of white space and the use of the shapes within the posters is lovely and breaks away from rectangular imagery. A very well executed identity that has been injected with a little humour and a twist of colour.
